Torres Legal consolidates its position as leader in New Technologies Law by being the winner of this category in the DyN 2022 Awards of the magazine Derecho y Negocios. A strength demanded by the new era and the business model of traditional and emerging companies.

This award is aimed at recognizing the firms that focused their efforts in facing, from the world of law, the new concerns and problems that the advance of technology entails.

Our managing partner, Héctor Torres, considers that this award is proof that technology is a fundamental part of legal services and will change the way in which lawyers specialize.

“The award in New Technologies Law is a confirmation that our effort to use technology as an ally allows us to be more efficient and reduce competitiveness gaps,” he said.

Torres assures that technology has improved the role of law firms in terms of efficiency. That is, those mechanical, repetitive tasks can be automated and improve client service.

“What technology is teaching us is that we can go back to being lawyers, back to being our clients’ advisors, far from being focused on administrative or repetitive tasks that take time away from being with our clients,” he replied.

Héctor Torres acknowledges the work of the rest of the legal team that has improved Legaltech’s service to streamline, optimize and offer added value to all the projects our clients entrust us with.

For our associate lawyer, Rebeca Galdámez, being awarded in this category is the reward for a process that has been going on for more than four years.

Galdámez affirms that a good part of the firm began to specialize, to offer this type of services and with the entry into force of the Bitcoin Law, the Electronic Signature and all the technological advances that are coming to El Salvador, Torres Legal entered this market in an agile and effective way.

“It was then that Torres Legal has led that branch of law. We consider that the award recognizes the work we are doing and it is something we are passionate about”, reflects our expert.

Galdámez believes that being awarded in the category of New Technology Law is the result of the trust that companies, businesses, organizations and national and foreign institutions have placed in the firm’s team.

“The jury recognized the hard work because we not only presented the cases, which were very many, but we also showed them the rest of the work such as the presence in international events and the work done in the media to promote the Law of New Technologies”, she said.

After the award, Galdámez considers that the objectives remain the same, but that the award motivates the entire legal and technological team to enhance what has been done so far: “We are very anxious and very excited about what the future holds and to continue working with our clients and new ones who require our advice in El Salvador and internationally”.
