Torres Legal recently inaugurated the N. Torres Library, a space dedicated to promoting culture, research, and recreation for all members of the firm and occasional visitors.

The space boasts an extensive collection of books in Spanish, English, and French. Additionally, the library features a Cataloging and Labeling System to facilitate quick and effortless book searches, loans, and returns.

During the inauguration event, our managing partner, Héctor Torres, stated that the library is an ideal space for work, reflection, and learning. Therefore, any activity related to these aspects can take place here, such as writing, work, debates, and more.

“The library is an ideal space when you need to work with maximum concentration or seek materials for your projects. Silence is not always required. There are moments for everything, and the library will also host recreational activities, work meetings, presentations, or conferences,” explained our managing partner.

He pointed out that the shelves contain various books from all branches of law, research documents on Finance, History, Design, and Management, as well as Fiction and Entertainment books for all tastes.

“The orderly arrangement of its elements, spaciousness, brightness, and ventilation, along with the decoration and colors, make it a comfortable and positive space for all members of Torres Legal, its clients, and allies when they need it,” emphasized Torres.

Our founding partner, Héctor Torres Reyes, mentioned in his speech that the library’s name is inspired by his father, Nicomedes Torres, and the grandfather of our lawyers, Héctor Torres, Oscar Giralt, and Adalicia Torres.

Torres Reyes stated that, thanks to his father’s efforts, he had access to education at all levels. It was from him that he learned about the law. Despite not being able to read and write, his father was appointed as a “lay judge” in the city of San Alejo in the department of La Unión.

“His friends and the farmers he worked with always questioned him about why his children didn’t help him with the work, but my father always said, ‘No, my children will study to be upright individuals and achieve their professional dreams,'” our founding partner emphasized.

The day concluded with a toast and a gathering of friends, colleagues, and family members of Torres Legal who enjoyed a break from the firm’s daily activities.
