September 19, 2023
Private and institutional investors, as well as cryptocurrency experts and blockchain visionaries, gathered at the Blockchain Investors Summit 2023, held in Mexico City on August 31. Our managing partner, Hector Torres, had the opportunity to participate in the event.
This event stands out as an invaluable space to explore the latest trends and opportunities in the Cryptocurrency and Blockchain market.
Héctor Torres, who was also part of two panel discussions, shared his impressions of the event, highlighting its significance in the Latin American context. “The Blockchain Investors Summit 2023 was a great opportunity for a premium sector of Latin America to learn about all the potentials and opportunities in investing in digital assets, understanding blockchain technology, and how it is a secure evolution in the traditional financial world,” he pointed out.
Héctor mentioned that the attendees were decision-makers, family offices, business families, angel investors, investment advisors, investment funds, exchanges, blockchain technology platforms, real estate developers, bank and company directors, tax advisors, and key players from the USA, Mexico, and Latin America who added a lot of value with their concerns, questions, doubts, experiences, and everything happened in a pleasant atmosphere.
At the center of the discussions was the importance of quality information in financial and investment decision-making. Our managing partner emphasized that “investors seek to have the most information possible, the highest quality, to make financial and investment decisions.” This underscores the relevance of events like this in providing participants with a comprehensive and up-to-date market outlook.
An interesting aspect that emerged at the event was the opening of investment opportunities to a wider audience. Héctor shared his perspective: “Technology has to open up investment opportunities to individuals, people who have never had access to financial investments before.”
Torres Legal’s participation in the event was notable. Héctor mentioned that Torres Legal was the only representation from El Salvador. “We were there because we are recognized as leaders in the Fintech industry, digital assets, and crypto-assets in El Salvador,” he explained.
Another highlight of the event was the willingness of many decision-makers to explore the possibilities of blockchain, despite any lingering doubts they may have: “What struck me the most about the event is that large-scale financial decisions are made in a very familiar, personalized way, and although they are not 100% convinced of its utility, they are open to trying it.”
During the panel discussions in which he participated, Héctor Torres addressed crucial topics related to El Salvador, such as the regulatory framework, the country’s continued efforts in technological investments, and the tax incentives for new technological investments. The potential of tokenization was also discussed in comparison to traditional financial instrument tools issued through a regulated entity.
