Lawyer from Torres Legal Joins Intellectual Property Association
February 08, 2023
Our lawyer in charge of the Intellectual Property Department, Fátima Espinal, has been admitted as an Active Member of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property, an organization dedicated to bringing together and representing individuals who work in this field.
Intellectual Property and Industrial Property is one of the fastest-growing practices at Torres Legal. The cases developed at the firm have led us to join international law associations.
For our lawyer, being part of an association is important for legal professionals and their international market development. Additionally, there are greater benefits for clients, and new alliances are formed with law firms from other countries.
“Being part of ASIPI is an important step in my professional growth and that of the firm. The Intellectual Property Department will strengthen its network of key contacts and set a precedent for our clients in El Salvador and beyond,” said Fátima Espinal.
To be admitted, Espinal had to undergo a rigorous process, starting with submitting an application form, accompanied by two references from Salvadoran lawyers who are members of ASIPI. Then, the Executive Committee evaluates the provided data.
Thanks to this membership, our specialist will be able to participate in various seminars, conferences, congresses, and roundtable discussions where she can interact with renowned experts in the field.
Espinal will also be able to be part of ASIPI’s Working Committees, which cover more than 30 areas of Intellectual Property, such as Anti-piracy, Competition, Copyright, Industrial Designs, Data Protection, Franchises, New Technologies, Advertising, Fashion Law, and Sports Law.
“The active participation of the Association and its Associates in various international and national forums results in hundreds of personal contacts for the benefit of the Associates and their law firms or companies. It is worth noting the large number of Latin American Associates of ASIPI, whose presence in the Association is a great attraction for professionals and companies from other continents,” states the admission application description.
Our lawyer will also have access to ASIPI’s digital and print publications and will collaborate on material through opinion articles that can be disseminated through the association’s various communication channels.
